Pregnancy & Parenting Education/Mentoring

Pregnancy Education

The Pregnancy Resource Center offers information to women about pregnancy and prepares them for the birth of their baby. Classes can be taken at the center or accessed online. Topics include pregnancy expectations, healthy eating while pregnant, the emotions of pregnancy, fetal development, labor & delivery and much more. Trained mentors are available to coach you through the curriculum, answer your questions and encourage you throughout your pregnancy.

There is an optional spiritual component to our education and mentoring program, which we encourage all women to take advantage of. Mentors are available to help you on your journey of understanding God’s purpose for your life and how to walk in hope for all God has for you. If you choose, the PRC staff and volunteers are available to pray with you each time you come to the center.

Parenting Education / Mentoring

The Pregnancy Resource Center offers parenting classes through our H.O.P.E. program (Helping Others Parent through Education). These classes are led by trained mentors who are available to answer questions and support women throughout their pregnancy and first stages of parenthood. This program is for women who are pregnant or who have a child less than 18 months of age. Dads are also encouraged to attend these classes.

When: Classes meet once a week for an hour by appointment or can be accessed online at your own convenience (coaching calls can be scheduled at a time that works best for you)

How to join: Call the PRC and ask to enroll in the H.O.P.E. program

The H.O.P.E. Program will:

Help you understand what to expect in pregnancy and beyond
Increase your knowledge of the challenges and joys of parenting
Give you regular opportunities to earn “Baby Bucks” to purchase needed supplies and equipment for taking care of your child
Offer you support and encouragement

Topics include newborn care, infant nutrition, getting baby to sleep, car seat safety, newborn milestones, newborn CPR and much more. Additional life skills classes are also available on topics such as depression, anger management, budgeting, helping children through change, and more.

Incentives are created to help each parent earn points, often called “Baby Bucks”, which can be spent in our clothing room to obtain items such as diapers, formula, clothing, baby supplies and baby equipment. New car seats and cribs are also available in order to provide a safe place for babies to travel and sleep. Relationships are built with our mentors and women find HOPE in the midst of their circumstances.
